GIANT Pumpkin Weigh-Off

$10,000 total IGPGA prize money to be awarded!
1st Place prize: $5,000.00
Winning pumpkin was 1424 pounds for 2011!
$5000.00 additional prize money paid down to at least 10th place

IGPGA Championship Belt to be awarded to 1st place contestant.
The weigh off begins at 12 noon on Sunday October 2nd, 2011

Come on out and see the GIANT pumpkins,. they will all be on display for your viewing...bring your CAMERA the world's record may be there! Contest and pumpkins will be will take place out in front of the Farm just before the entrance. Everyone Welcome to the weigh off no charge to see all the pumpkins on display along with the contest!

 

 

Windy City LIVE Chicago-Friday October 21st
Mark DeCarlo from ABC Windy City Live Chicago is going to be live at Bengtson's Pumpkin Fest FRIDAY October 21st from 9am to 10am. Tune in! We are very excited to have Mark and his crew joining us on the farm!

NAWS Animal Clinic and Rescue in Mokena is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to ending euthanasia and suffering of companion animals. We do this by focusing on prevention through our low cost Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic, providing Humane Education Programs to childrens groups and our Pet Rescue Program. Our goal is to prevent unwanted litters and offer affordable wellness so that every animal can receive basic veterinary care and to assist in placing loving companion animals that otherwise may not have had a chance at life into loving forever homes. Authentic Blacksmith Demonstrations

Every Sunday, local Homer area Blacksmith will be on hand with educational demonstrations of Hand made period Iron Wear Items and custom souvenir Horse shoes! He will be located near the Hayride and the Pumpkin Field area. Great for all AGES! Be sure to take time to see Brian and his workmanship; forging hot metal into useful items! He will have dinner bells, hooks, outdoor cooking sets and souvenir/lucky horseshoes (that can be stamped with your name) for sale. A special treat for the kids; metal tags that the kids can punch their own name or words into them just for a $1.00 Sunday October 30th - 10am til 5pm

Triangle eyes? Forget it. Scooped out insides? No way. When master carver Wayne Baranowski pulls out his chisels, what takes shape be fore your eyes is the sight of a lifetime that will have you talking for years to come. Every image is three dimensional...from wrinkles, to protruding noses, to a protruding tongue. What are these masterful creations? Pumpkins!
